This is a food photograph I did for my mini portfolio. I did a series of different types of food ranging from desserts, full meals, drinks, fruit, and vegetables. This is one on the desserts a smore, 

Chocolate Cupcakes

I bought these chocolate cupcakes at a local bakery in Germantown, a section of Philadelphia.  I photographed these cupcakes in studio using Alien Bee strobes with soft boxes. I kept the set up simple using a black placemat to match the bow then placing the cupcakes on top. 

Chocolate Cake

Finding a great bakery can be a challenge at times; this cake came from the West Falmouth Market where they have them delivered from a Boston bakery.  The cake being photographed is called the Midnight Madness, a dark chocolate cake with a creamy white butter frosting and chocolate icing on top. I photographed this cake using my Nikon d300s with a 70-180 Nikon lens and then lit it using two alien bee strobes with a bounce card. Hope this does not make you too hungry.
