Twilight Exterior

This is a twilight exterior of a modern home in Santa Yenz, Ca. I photographed this home which is inspired by Cliff May, with fellow photographer and friend Kim Gehr. This contemporary house is very inviting with its glass sliding doors and windows allowing the sunlight to stream in from every angle. Its unique simple design flows through out the house making it all come together as one outstanding piece of architecture.

Union Hotel Details

These are several detail photographs I took while shooting at the Union Hotel. The decretive wood design is a close up of a headboard, the intricate wood carving and stunning wood stain just called my name. One of the other detail photographs is of an arm chair and the last photograph is a close up of the hardwood floor that is through out the hotel.

Hearst Castle at Sunset

This is part of the magnificent Hearst Castle; the view to the right overlooks the beautiful rocky coastline of California. This photograph was taken just after a rainfall as the clouds opened up revealing the blue sky and allowing for a great sunset. As the sunset it cast this warm golden glow on this building just making it come alive and the wet tiles allowed for some interesting reflections of the fountain and building.

The court yard is filled with flowers and trees that offer great backgrounds for wedding photographs. The inside of the church is very unique as it has a native american feel to it. The churches interior consists of wooden beams, carved wood, and monochromatic color scheme.

Detail

This is a detail of a high rise building in Los Angeles, California. Architectural detail photographs can be very abstract, like this one shown. The graphic appeal to the building is shown here by zooming into the side of the building and using the lighting to emphasizing the windows.

Sun America

This is a series of images I took of the Sun America building located in Los Angeles, California. I traveled into the city to photograph high rise buildings. At first the shoot did not seem to be going well, but as it became latter in the day the sun peaked out from behind the clouds and created some interesting effects on the reflective building. Included in this series are  detail shots, an overall image and an exaggerated view. The main challenge I encountered was finding a place to stand to photograph the overall image. Since the building is so high, it was hard to find a location where there was not too many distracting elements within the frame. The exaggerated view was created but getting as low to the ground as possible and shooting directly up at it to emphasize it sheer height.

Airport

What does a photographer do when siting in an airport for hours? Photograph it of course. This is the Barcelona Airpot in Spain. I photographed this terminal one early morning as I waited to board my flight to London and then from there get on my plane back to Philadelphia. This is one of the largest and newly renovated terminals at the Barcelona airport, nearly 30 million people pass through this airport every year.

Panera Bread

This is the interior of a Panera Bread located in Pennsylvania. For these two images I used all available lighting to capture the dining area and Bakery. I arrived there just as they were opening so I could photograph the bakery just as the fresh breads and pastries were being displayed for the day.

UCSB Architecture

This architectural photograph was taken on the UCSB campus. The building struck my interest as I drove past it one night so I decided to go back and photograph the building. I decided that the best time to photograph this building was just after sunset so that the lights would be visible to help emphasize the structure.

Manayunk Church

Churches around the world all have very different architectural styles. Some have a simple design while others may be an elaborate masterpiece. This photograph is of the St.John Baptist Church in Manayunk, PA. The church is a large stone building which is beautiful and elaborate inside with a cathedral ceiling and stain glass windows. The church resides in a small neighborhood of Philadelphia which is located along the Schuylkill River. Manayunk is known for its unique shops and local restaurants. Many visitors enjoy strolling the streets of this small urban town with the historical feel.

Paris at Night

Traveling to another country can be quite unpredictable and an awarding experience. The best thing to do when traveling is to just go with the flow, you never know when or where you will come across something interesting.  When traveling, you can learn so much about the people and the place.  There is an incredible amount of things to see and experience in the world. I hope to travel and photograph many different cultures across the world. This image was taken at night in Paris.

Cape Cod Graffiti

Cape Cod’s natural beauty is known world wide, offering visitors and locals a wide range of outdoor activities most of which are in the warmer months. So when most people think of Cape Cod they don’t think vandalism but in fact you can find some if you look hard enough. Most locals don’t even know about it so when they see photos of such graffiti they think it is in Boston or some where near a larger city. Although graffiti is considered vandalism I think that in some cases it is a form of art. These are some images of the local graffiti I have come across.
